Vote Monitor is an application meant for those who act as independent observers of the polling process. Thus, the app provides them with a tool though which they can report, in real time, on the proceedings in the polling stations, as well as any hindrances, if that is the case. The app can be used during any elections, in Romania, as well as other countries.
The app provides the observers and NGOs with:
• a means through which to observe the polling process organically;
• a way to centralize all responses at the end of the polling process, and to export a report within seconds;
• guide the observers in the polling stations through simple questions, which are meant to evaluate the flow of the polling process.
In the end, our goal is to have a clear, simple and realistic snapshot of the polling process proceedings. The Vote Monitor app, developed by Code for Romania, has been used to monitor the polling process ever since the parlamentary elections in Romania, in 2016.
